Program Overview

Tilburg University is one of the Netherlands' principal educational centers. It is a college city situated in the beautiful Brabant countryside, just over an hour from Amsterdam. Tilburg has a rich student life, with many cultural and leisure opportunities including museums, cinemas, theaters and concert halls.

While formally an exchange through Tilburg's School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, students have the opportunity to take courses in any of the schools as long as pre-requisites are met. These include the Schools of Economics and Management, Humanities, and Law.

Tilburg is a particularly strong option for students studying public management and policy, psychology, and sociology.  Students can choose from over 100 courses taught in English.

With a population of nearly 200,000 inhabitants, Tilburg is the sixth largest city in the Netherlands. Sixty percent of the population lives in the western part of the country, which is called Holland. This name is often used to refer to the Netherlands as a whole. Although Dutch is spoken everywhere in the country, many Dutch people speak at least two foreign languages and nearly everyone understands and speaks English.

Tilburg is rightly proud of its reputation as a center of learning. A total student population of over 25,000 makes Tilburg one of the Netherlands' principal educational centers.

Tilburg University does not offer in-campus student accommodation; however, WonenBreburg offers furnished accommodation to international students. The estimated monthly rent lies between €450 and €570 (or $530 - $670 per month). The offer through this website is ONLY available for students on exchange for the fall semester (August–January); once all rooms are booked students will receive directions and instructions how to find accommodation through other accommodation platforms/agencies.

Housing is NOT available for exchange students at Talent Square.
