With a career spanning over a decade in various roles related to graduate and international admissions, Saud brings a wealth of experience to his new position.

Prior to joining Arizona International, Saud held key roles at prestigious institutions, including Washington State University, Ross University of Medicine and Health Sciences, American University of Antigua/Manipal Global Education Consortium, and Rosalind Franklin University – Chicago Medical School. His diverse experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the intricacies of international admissions in numerous academic fields.

Born in the city of Lahore in the Indian sub-continent and raised in Toronto, Canada, Saud’s personal and educational background uniquely positions him to understand the challenges faced by international students. He began his educational journey in the United States as an F-1 student, and now holds undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and international studies from Hawaii Pacific University, and a master's degree in higher education from Merrimack College.

Saud’s journey in academia is marked by his commitment to higher education, culminating in a doctoral degree from Vanderbilt University Peabody College of Education. Under the mentorship of Dr. John Braxton, his doctoral research focused on examining the impact of financial aid and loan-free initiatives on international and marginalized college students at elite private universities.

Saud’s passion for international education was sparked during his undergraduate years when he served as an international admissions ambassador. Additionally, his time as a DAAD Fellow studying at Technische Universität (TU)Berlin further fueled his desire to pursue a career in this field. These experiences have not only shaped his professional trajectory but have also instilled in him a deep appreciation for the importance of global perspectives in higher education.

As Arizona International's new Assistant Dean for International Admissions and Enrollment, Saud is poised to contribute significantly to the University of Arizona commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic community. A strong believer in the UArizona public land grant mission, he hopes to expand its impact by recruiting international students to foster global competencies amongst the University’s domestic students while bolstering the economy of greater Tucson community. His extensive background and dedication to supporting international students make him a valuable addition to the Arizona International team.
