Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship Information Session

The purpose of the FH DDRA fellowship is to contribute to the development and improvement of the study of modern foreign languages and area studies in the U.S. by supporting full-time dissertation research abroad. Research projects must focus on one or more of the following geographic areas:  Africa, East Asia, Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, South Asia, the Near East, Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia, and the Western Hemisphere. Research in Western Europe and the U.S.

US Government Funding for Study Abroad

Information session to give students tools and advice to apply for a number of different study abroad scholarships offered through the US Government.  12pm – 1pm will focus on the Boren Scholarship, and 1pm – 2pm will focus on the GilmanFreeman-Asia

Security & Peace Building in Colombia Info Session

Join us on 10/29/18 to learn about an exciting new study abroad program in Bogota, Colombia!

Location: Marshall Building #280, 6-7PM

This 10-week program in Bogotá, Colombia, offers an academic experience alongside for-credit internships in security and conflict resolution. Students earn 9 units of U of A credit studying security while contributing to a lasting peace in Colombia. The program includes opportunities to engage the leaders behind the 2016 peace accord, and excursions to peace communities and the comunas of Medellín.

Global Tour of Campus Recreation

In recognition of International Education Week, The University of Arizona’s Campus Recreation will host a Global Tour. Participating students, faculty, staff, and community members who enter the Rec Center will have the opportunity to participate in a scavenger hunt called the “Passport Challenge,” where they will hunt for and answer questions about internationally-inspired programs and services offered by Campus Rec. At the end of the hunt, they may turn in their answers to redeem a prize.

Saving a Piece of Me: Cultural Preservation of Refugees in Tucson

Join individuals who were resettled as refugees in Tucson as they share various ways of preserving their cultural practices. This roundtable discussion is part of a Confluencenter-funded project by Orhon Myadar, assistant professor in the school of Geography & Development, that seeks to gather voices from Tucson’s refugee community. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

Join us for this popular battle of the smartest and speediest! Students and scholars will be presenting on a variety of topics …all in 7.5 minutes! Eat free food and vote on your favorite presentation.
