Established in 1998, the Foundation for International Education (FIE) is a private, independent, and not-for-profit educational exchange organization offering semester and summer internship options. FIE facilities are newly built and located in central Dublin. This program is organized by Eller College of Management but is open to all UA students. It is an eight week program, where students will intern in a small to mid-size Dublin organization or non-profit 4 days a week full-time, Monday through Thursday. They will also take FIE’s International Internship Course. Students will work both online and in class with their peers and a course instructor to reflect upon their internship experience and exchange ideas.
Upon completion of the program, Eller students will receive 3-6 direct credits for BNAD 393A for the International Internship Course. All students must complete 3 units; the additional 3 units are optional and include an internship-based project and presentation. These units can be applied directly towards the Global Business Program or can be used as general elective credit.
Students who are not in Eller will have to work out credit with their home department for the internship. If you do not get approval from your home department for the internship, then you will receive BNAD credit for the internship and this cannot be changed after you return, so please plan accordingly.

Your internship could take you into any part of Dublin from the financial services center on the quays of the River Liffey; the cobblestoned streets of Temple Bar, where the city’s tourists tend to flock to; or perhaps you’ll be interning at a start-up in one of the city’s leafy suburbs or out along Dublin’s stunning coastline. FIE’s Dublin internship program gives you the opportunity to experience this complex, multicultural society through interdisciplinary coursework and tailored, academic internships. FIE facilities are newly built and located in central Dublin.
FIE’s student housing is located in central Dublin. FIE offices are located here so students always have access to FIE staff for anything they need. The facility includes on-site laundry, gym, and entertainment room and bike storage.
The program includes the following: International Internship course, Internship placement with a small to mid-size Irish company or organization, student housing, local transportation, Wi-Fi access, 24-hour emergency support, health insurance, welcome reception, and an on-site orientation.
