La Universidad de Valladolid is located in beautiful Valladolid, Spain within the regions of Castilla and León. This exchange is specifcally created for Chemical and Environmental Engineering students to study at one of the oldest universities in Spain.
This exchange is open primarily for students within the field of Engineering. Although some courses are offered in English, a B1 level of the Spanish language (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages - CEFR) is required to particpate in this exchange program (except for the International Semester - see below). Note: Visiting Students are NOT allowed to register in first year subjects. The maximum number of credits to be registered is 60 for the full academic year or 30 credits for one semester.

Additionally, there is a Industrial Engineering International Semester that consists of 30 ECTS credits, broken down into 18 ECTS of course credits and 12 ECTS earned through a final project. Courses for the Industrial Engineering Semester are in English, require no Spanish language skills and include the following (students would select three of these courses):
- Environment and Renewable Energies
- Science, Technology and Society
- Creativity and Innovation in Industrial Design
- System Dynamics. Modelling in Simulation in Engineering
- Project Development and Management in Industrial Engineering
In addition to your academics at Valladolid, the International Relations Office will serve as a means of support, assisting with accomodation (different tab), registration, enrollment and transition. Part of the transition assitance comes from the Mentor Programme available to students who are interested.
Valladolid is the capital of the Castille and León region, located just northwest of the Spanish capital of Madrid. With a vareity of museums, cultural activities, music festivals and an active night life, students are sure to enjoy themselves in this historic city. The location is known for their traditional history, pure Spanish language and production of wine. Valladolid has a population of around 350,000 people and the largest population of students in the country. In regards to weather, expect cooler winters in the 30 degree range and warm summers that hit the high 80s
Students can select their preferred housing through an online registration system on the Universidad de Valladolid's webpage. Below are the housing options that the universisty can assist in coordinating:
- Individual room with a shared kitchen, living room, and bathroom
- University residence hall with a single or double room
- Homestay with Spanish family with a single room and meals
The application deadline for fall semester is June 30th and for spring semester, December 31, but you are advised to apply earlier.
