Gain experience in a city that’s home to thousands of international companies. This program allows you to make steady progress toward your academic degree while developing practical skills in fields such as marketing, management, information technology, sales, and more. The program incorporates a professional internship placement into your summer study program. Our strong academic focus and personalized placements will allow you to make a real impact at a local company and help you take care of additional UA degree requirements. Give your career a boost by gaining the international experience you’ve been seeking.
Tentative Program Dates: Mid May 2018 – Mid July 2018
This program is organized by the Eller College of Management but is open to all UA students. CEA’s summer internship program includes an academic seminar and an internship placement. The internship seminar meets for 22 contact hours and you'll spend 120 hours at your internship placement over 8 weeks. Together, your seminar and internship placement are worth 3 credits. Your internship placement hours may vary depending on industry standards for your career field and will be determined after you arrive.
Students have the option to select an additional 3-unit course from the CEA elective course offerings for an additional fee (bringing your credit total to 6 units). Some of the elective courses offered may satisfy a UA General Education requirement or an Eller upper-division elective including: Marketing Major Elective, Tier 2 Humanities, and Global Business Program minor elective courses.
Eller students will receive three direct credits for BNAD 393A (Internship Seminar course). If you are interested in completing an additional 3-unit course, please schedule an appointment with an Eller Global Program Advisor to review the CEA elective course offerings and complete a Study Abroad Transfer Credit Pre-Approval form.
Students who are not in Eller will have to work out credit with their home department for the internship seminar course. If you do not get approval from your home department for the internship, then you will receive BNAD credit for the internship and this cannot be changed after you return, so please plan accordingly.
Set on the downtown campus of CEA’s partner institution, the International School of Business, the CEA Dublin Center has a focus on active learning that takes you out of the classroom and into the city, where you’ll enjoy first-hand encounters with local culture. This compelling, interactive learning environment offers courses in Liberal Arts and Business characterized by global perspective, small class sizes, and experienced faculty.
