Segovia, Spain, a "World Heritage City", is known for its many cultural and artistic wonders including the Roman Aqueduct, the Gothic Cathedral, the Alcazar (its most famous castle) and the Santa Cruz la Real Convent.
With a population of around 56,00 people, Segovia offers a quiet, safe and relaxing atmosphere with access to several larger cities. The metropolitan capital of Spain, Madrid, is only a short bus ride away. Keep busy by strolling the beautiful streets, visiting a local museum, stopping by one of the many parks or participating in a traditional festival.
As a part of the program, students will live with a local Segovian family (homestay). Families will prepare many of the meals, offering an opportunity to experience traditional food, and assist in the practice and development of Spanish language skills. Expect to learn what a typical day in Spain is like for the locals!
