The Arizona in Orvieto program works in collaboration with the University of Arizona and is an institution fully accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca - MIUR). It offers study abroad programming for spring, summer and fall semesters, with a broad variety of courses, including the possibility to join an Archaeological excavation. There will be field trips, museum visits and independent study programs.
The program is sponsored by the Comune of Orvieto, and the Fondazione Centro Studi Città di Orvieto (Stefano Talamoni, Director). Director of the program is Dr. David Soren, Regents Professor, Department of Classics, University of Arizona, Tucson. Professor in residence is Dr. Claudio Bizzarri and the Program Coordinator is Dr. Alba Frascarelli.
The curriculum is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
