Location: Freiburg, Germany

Situated in Southwestern Germany between the Rhine River and Black Forest, Freiburg – which turned 900 in 2020 – is widely known for its vibrant cultural scene, pleasant climate (the sun shines more there than almost anywhere else in Germany), its bike- and walkability transportation, and for being a historical city with a young vibe. Freiburg is known as the "Green City" as it is one of the birthplaces of the environmental movement and local politics are driven by sustainability and climate protection. Freiburg is located in the "border triangle" between France and Switzerland, which contributes to the city’s global culture.
