Program Overview

The University of Westminster lies in the heart of London and incorporates the culture of London directly into curriculum.  It was founded as Britain's first Polytechnic institution in 1838 and now enrolls over 22,000 students. Westminster offers a wide variety of coursework from Architecture to Social Sciences to meet the needs of a very diverse student population.

The summer school offers students from all over the world the opportunity to study with the University of Westminster for three or six weeks.

  • Session one (Saturday 15 June – Saturday 6 July 2019)
  • Session two (Saturday 6 July – Saturday 27 July 2019)

You can choose from a wide range of classes designed for visiting international students to make the most of the University of Westminster's dynamism while using London as your classroom.

Classes are taught by a highly experienced and enthusiastic faculty. Some modules run in both sessions, others only in one. For more info, please visit here

At the University of Westminster Summer School, you are right at the heart of London, Europe's largest capital city, with access to the finest galleries, theatres, museums, and libraries in the world. Founded as a polytechnic in 1838, the University of Westminster has a long tradition of innovation and of providing opportunities to students in the arts, business, science, and social sciences. The cost of living in London is quite high compared to the States and we recommend that visiting students add on another 80 pounds per week for travel, food, and entertainment. This could be higher if students wish to take the opportunity to travel in Europe during their vacations. If a student is in London for less than six months, he or she should make travel insurance arrangements in their home country before they leave.

In addition to the classroom setting, the University of Westminster provides a series of orientations to assist American students in making the study abroad period a rewarding and exciting experience. These comprehensive orientation programs help students adjust academically, socially and culturally to life in the heart of London. Housing is provided in one of two of the university's residence halls: Furnival House or Wigram House. There are some shared rooms, although single study bedrooms are usually provided, depending on the residence hall. Bath and kitchen facilities are shared. Meals are not included in the cost of housing, but students can purchase meals in the university refectories.
