Macquarie University is located in the north-west part of Sydney, on a gorgeous campus that transports you out of the typical urban surroundings. It is one of Australia's leading research universities with over 31,000 students in attendance. It is very diverse and offers a wide range of majors to accommodate any student.
Please note: Exchange places fill up quickly and are based on a first-come, first-served basis. To assure there are placements available, please contact the study abroad coordinator for this program before applying. Only students who have turned in a complete application will reserve a spot for this program.

Macquarie University is ranked in the top ten universities in Australia, with over 30,000 students and 8,000 international students. The campus is set on 135 acres of parkland located only a 30-minute drive or 45-minute bus ride northwest of Sydney Harbour. The campus is adjacent to a large complex of retail stores, supermarkets, a cinema, and several restaurants. Sydney is the largest city in Australia with a population of approximately four million people. Magnificently situated on one of the finest natural harbors in the world, the City of Sydney offers a spectacular experience for international students. There is frequent bus service between the city and the Macquarie campus, offering a perfect blend of big-city life and campus community. The International Student Services program offers a range of helpful services, including airport pickup, visa advice, social activities and daytrips.
Macquarie guarantees accommodation for international students and offers several types of on-campus accommodation. Dormitory style housing is catered, with both ensuite and shared bathroom facilities available. Apartment style housing is also available both on and off campus. Apartments are non-catered but each one offers its own fully equipped kitchen.
