The Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (UFP) is a unique opportunity for Engineering students with Portuguese language skills to participate in a global exchange focused on issues of water reuse. Located in Recife, a city considered "Brazilian Venice", students will dive into Brazilian culture along the sea.
Students can use the Portal do Estudiante to search for classes at the Recife campus within their specific discipline of Engineering.
After searching for your Engineering discipline, select Componentes Curriculares to view courses, descriptions and credits offered during your term abroad.
Sample courses related to Civil Engineering and Water Re-Use include:
- CI365- HIDROLOGIA APLICADA 2
- CI472- SISTEMAS DE ESGOTOS SANITARIOS
- CI503- USO E REUSO DE ÁGUAS EM EDIFICAÇÕES
- CI509- ENGENHARIA DE RECURSOS HÍDRICOS
- CI514- INSTALAÇÕES PREDIAIS 1
- CI525- PROJETO DE SISTEMAS DE ESGOTOS SANITÁRIOS
With a population of just over 1.5 million, Recife provides an exciting environment for students on exchange. Recife is home to the biggest street carnival in the world, the capital of shipwrecks (17 sunken ships available for visitation), and located near the UNESCO World Heritage site of Olinda.
Although UFP does not provide accommodation, they do offer a list of suggested places to stay either near campus or in other parts of the city. Rental conditions vary depending on the quality and location of the accomodation.
