This summer program (South Africa winter) allows you to study in one of the most beautiful regions of the world, where you learn about life in post-Apartheid South Africa and experience the rich and diverse culture of the Western Cape. Stellenbosch has a holistic approach in regards to how a student should be introduced to a study field or subject. This is reflected by a curriculum that is a well balanced academic program combining theory and practice in an organic manner. The social programme is also designed in such a manner that it supports the academic program and provides an introduction to the cultural diversity of Stellenbosch and the Western Cape.
Students following the General programme have the option to enroll for 1 – 3 courses during their period of study in Stellenbosch. The courses cover a variety of fields of study, which includes: Philosophy, Engineering, Botany, Political Science, Economics, Literature, Art and Media, History, HIV/AIDS, International Relations, Chinese Studies, Multilingualism, Linguistics, and Marketing. Students can choose one course from each of the Elective groups.

Elective 3 (8 July – 20 July 2018):

The charming university town of Stellenbosch is situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands, surrounded by magnificent mountains. Stellenbosch is only 20 minutes from the nearest beaches and 30 minutes from Cape Town.
Students are housed in a centrally located student dormitory on campus. The student residence is called Huis Visser.

- Look over the expense items listed under "Program Fees" and "Expenses" and tally up expenses from BOTH, converting the currency from Rand to US Dollars (suggested currency converter: XE-Converter).
- Last, also add to the total expenses the Study Abroad Fee of $1,500, health insurance ($80 Semester/$160 Academic Year), and the costs of airfare to Cape Town (~$1,100).
