A celebration of “50 Years of Arizona in Brazil” was held on Saturday, April 16 in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the US department of State, awards over 700 outstanding undergraduate American Students to participate in a study abroad or international internship program during the summer academic semester. The Gilman Scholarship award amount is $3000 and is the largest source of funding available to students will study abroad.

UA Alum and Professor of astronomy at the University of Chile, Mario Hamuy Wackenhut, will become the head of the National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICYT) in Chile.
