Global Ambassadors

The Global Ambassador program is a year-long leadership experience for students interested in cultivating and bolstering the international community on campus. They serve as early connection points for new students before they arrive, a safety net in those first semesters, and a continued source of support throughout a student’s time at the University of Arizona. As a Global Ambassador, you will foster connection and a sense of belonging among students.

GAs will provide new student support through these ISS opportunities:

  • Presenting on the first-year experience at webinars and Global Orientation
  • Leading and engaging with small groups at Global Orientation
  • Greeting new international students at the Tucson airport
  • Engaging with students at the ISS coffee and study hours
  • Assisting with ISS shopping trips and other events

GAs will learn how to lead and work as a team through these Buddy Program responsibilities:

  • Answering questions related to student life, Tucson and university resources
  • Engaging with buddies through social media platforms
  • Coordinating and attending field trips to Tucson attractions

As a GA, you can expect to gain experience in the following areas:

  • Individual and group goal setting
  • Leadership, teamwork and public speaking
  • Working with a diverse group of students
  • Event planning and execution
