Program Overview

This program is an intensive Research Internship at the University of Arizona where undergraduate students spend eight (8) weeks, 40 hours per week participating in research activities, attending workshops, field trips, and a graduate school symposium. This program offers academic, professional, and intercultural experiences for undergraduate students interested in science, technology, social sciences, and engineering to prepare students to excel as a future graduate student and as a research professional in a globally challenged world. The majority of past participants go on to successfully enroll in graduate programs and go on to complete their research goals.This international experience also provides skills needed for career success. 


  • Program coordinator will make arrangements for housing on campus.
  • Instructions about housing will be provided after the official application acceptance.
  • Students are paired with roommates when staying on campus. 


UA International Student Services provides the immigration documents needed for all students coming to the UA campus. This program coordination is supervising this process for participants. 

All participants must have a current passport valid for travel to the U.S.A. 

Application Requirements

  • Proof of English Proficiency.
    • TOEFL ITP (paper based): 450
    • IELTS: 5.0
    • TOEFL iBT: 54
    • Cambridge English, PET, FCE, CAE, CPE: Pass
    • TOEIC: 550
  • Statement of research (200 words)
    • A 200 word statement of research in English that explains what you would like to begin researching during this program. Please explain
      • Why the topic you are interested in is important to your current university studies
      • Which United Nations Sustainable Goals it will address

  • Letter of recommendation from current professor (in English)
  • University Transcripts in English


Program Requirements

  • Copy of biographical page of passport

    • Bank statement (if program is 100% self-paid).

Program Cost

Program cost includes:

  • Educational and instructional activities

Program cost with Housing: $4230 USD

Program cost does not include:
