Fulbright Week at the University of Arizona
The Office of Global Initiatives, the UA Honors College, and the UA Graduate College have joined efforts to plan a week full of events acknowledging past Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients; hosting workshops, information sessions and open houses; and informing faculty, undergraduate and graduate students about the opportunities available through the Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays programs. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to participate in any of the Fulbright Week sessions held during the week of March 19-23, 2018.

Fulbright Week:

TUES MARCH 20

 
8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

Info Session: U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program (SUMC, San Pedro Room, 3rd floor):

Kaitlin Taylor, a Fulbright representative from the Institute of International  Education, will present on the U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program and the various awards available for faculty, professionals, and administrators, including application tips. U.S. Fulbright Scholar alumni will also be present to talk about their experiences. Continental breakfast to be served.

U.S. Fulbright Scholar Program One-on-one Advising (University Services Building, Room 301E):

Kaitlin Taylor, a Fulbright representative from the Institute of International Education, will provide one-on-one advising with potential applicants. Each session is scheduled for 30 minutes. To sign up for a 30-minute time slot, call Mary Ann Berg at (520) 621-1900. Please provide your region(s) and/or awards of interest when you sign up.

1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Kaitlin Taylor, a Fulbright representative from the Institute of International Education, will provide one-on-one advising to potential applicants for the U.S. Fulbright Student Program. Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Advising Session (University Services Building, Room 204E):

Dr. Shelley Hawthorne Smith, Assistant Director, Office of Fellowships and Community Engagement in the Graduate College will meet with domestic doctoral students interested in applying to this program.

Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad Program (Marshall Building, Room 490):

Dr. Lisa Adeli, Director of Educational Outreach at the University of Arizona Center for Middle Eastern Studies, has received five Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad awards between 2009 and the present. She will present on the projects she's done through this Fulbright-Hays program. Information about the Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad program, and how to apply, will also be presented.

U.S. Fulbright Student Program Info Session (Harvill Building, Room 332A):

Hosted and presented by Social and Behavioral Sciences Research Institute. This session will provide an overview of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program and offer application tips.
