Global Excellence Awards

Each year, the Office of Global Initiatives and Center for English as a Second Language present three Global Excellence Awards. These awards recognize individuals and groups who have produced a substantial impact in the areas of international service or international education.


FOBESII Press Conference

GCC-  UA Alumni Reunion Dubai 2014, Burj Khalifa Armani Pavilion

The momentous GCC-UA Alumni reunion 2014, took place in Dubai and was held at the tallest building in the world at Burj Khalifa, Armani Pavilion. The event was attended by Dr. Ann Weaver Hart, President of the University of Arizona, UA personnel and over 100 Alums from the GCC countries.

Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Mendoza, student representative for the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona (CIUA), competed this month in the sixth annual "Chinese Bridge" contest for middle school students this month in Yunnan, China. He took third place in the competition.


Higher Education Leaders from Mexico Visit UA to Explore Partnership Opportunities

UA Global Initiatives hosted the delegation of university rectors, professors and other leaders in an effort to get members of both the UA community and the Mexican higher education community thinking about opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships.

A historic reunion of UA alumni in the Gulf Region was held last January, 2012, in Dubai.  Over 100 alumni attended the event, which was organized by a committee headed by H.E. Mohammed Sharaf, who graduated from the UA in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration, and is CEO of DP World, a global port operator headquartered in Dubai.
